Predator: Badlands - Synth Weapons

In 2024 I had the opportunity to work on the Dan Trachtenberg film, Predator: Badlands.

These were designs for the Weyland Yutani synth weapons, and what became the synth rifle you see in the film. The initial brief was a pistol sized weapon that could both kill or immobilize a target depending on how you calibrated the weapon. I had a lot of fun exploring a number of design directions and material combinations. At the end of the design phase I put together ideas for a modular kit to customize the weapon, this was taken by the art department who assembled the final rifle design and build you see in the film.
